Honestly, I'm totally ready for this week to be over. I'm looking forward to the weekend and seeing what sort of craziness I can get myself caught up in. My friend Kristyn is hosting a birthday party for her boyfriend who is turning 30, complete with all day barbecue followed by a bar-hopping party bus to celebrate the night away! I'm pretty sure insanity will follow.
The start of September will always bring me back to what it is like to start school. I swear, if it wasn't so gosh darn expensive, I would be a professional student. I seriously love college and learning. I'm a great test taker and I adore the social interaction in a classroom. I'm such a nerd, I know.
But, that is why I was kind of super psyched about our Friday Fancies theme this week! Who doesn't love picking out new back to school clothes and accessories. I'm more than a little bit in love with this look! I think I need to go purchase a pair of tan wedge pumps, like tomorrow. But, since I don't really have too much of a need for those, I' might actually go purchase the nail polish and NARS stick below!

bright and sassy
Good Morning! I'm a little late this morning with the Friday Fancies because I was out until after 3am last night! The moral of the story here is that I'm not quite as young as I used to be. Honestly I was exhausted by the end of the movie. I think partially because it's an intense, powerful movie and also because it was 3am.
Another post to come about my thoughts on The Hunger Games movie, but for now lets dive into my favorite link up of the week - Friday Fancies!
Our theme this week was "March Madness", but since I don't actually watch basketball, or any sport really, I just went with a favorite color combo. The madness in this look is mostly because I'm posting a sleeveless dress and sandals in March, and it something I could actually be wearing right now. In fact, I am wearing a sleeveless dress at the moment and I'm not even the slightest bit chilly!

I love this blue dress. It's super versatile and it packs a huge punch of color.
These are my favorite style of sandals in the summer. They're flip-flops but not. I like the little bit of embellishment on them since the dress I chose is plain.
This is where my outfit really starts to pop! I love this bag. Whether you're going to the beach, or walking around outside all day, I love the idea of having a giant bag to put all your stuff in, including water or snacks.
I'm not sure I'd like these on me, but I like the idea of how they coordinate with the outfit.
Gorgeous addition, and perfect if it does actually get to be closer to a normal March temperature. This would help keep you a tiny bit warmer.

lets tango
I'm back from Florida and I'm still craving the warm sunshine. It was amazing down there. The only cool day was race day and I couldn't have asked for it to be more perfect!
I'm sure you've hear that the color of the year has been decided and it is none other than tangerine tango! Orange? Yeah...I'm not a huge fan of orange on my clothes. Perhaps it's my pasty skin tone, or just that it seems to clash with my hair. I'm just not all that into it! That doesn't mean I won't be participating in this trend though. There are definitely ways to add pops of orange to an outfit without looking like you ate a few too many carrots.

This dress is PERFECTION. I love it so much. The huge flowers with the perfect shade of orange on the very neutral and subdued background. I'm seriously in love with this.
Orange shoes might be the only totally orange item I own. I have shoes that are very similar to these and I love them. I live in this type of sandal almost all summer long.
A bright blue bag...What's not to love. I adore that it brings out the blue a little bit more as that is the color I would want to highlight more than the orange.
And the jewelry. Simple bangles paired with simple red studs. The outfit might look a little like a bag of skittles threw up, but that is kind of how I like my spring and summer clothes to be. Super bright and super fun!
